Hue is located near the center if Vietnam and also the capital of Thừa Thiên Huế province. It is known for many festivals and as a center for major cultural events of the country.
Alongside its moat and thick stone walls, the complex encompasses the Imperial City of Huế, with palaces and shrines; the Forbidden Purple City, once the emperor's home; and a replica of the Royal Theater.

Hue originally belonged to a prefecture of the Champa Kingdom before the occupation of the Vietnamese.
Huế was chosen by previous kings to be a cultural, economic and political center. It was the capital city of the “Dang Trong” administration from 1636 - 1775 and then the dynasties of Tay Son and the Nguyen (1788-1945).

The best time to visit
The most pleasant time to visit Hue is between mid-January to April, with the temperature around 22°C to 25°C. It is dry and less humid from February that makes this period a more ideal time of the year to enjoy outdoor activities.
