Hue is located near the center if Vietnam and also the capital of Thừa Thiên Huế province. It is known for many festivals and as a center for major cultural events of the country.

Alongside its moat and thick stone walls, the complex encompasses the Imperial City of Huế, with palaces and shrines; the Forbidden Purple City, once the emperor's home; and a replica of the Royal Theater.

Culture:

Hue originally belonged to a prefecture of the Champa Kingdom before the occupation of the Vietnamese.

Huế was chosen by previous kings to be a cultural, economic and political center. It was the capital city of the “Dang Trong” administration from 1636 - 1775 and then the dynasties of Tay Son and the Nguyen (1788-1945). 

Festival:

Huế is known as a unique festival city of Asia.

Hue Festival is held every two years with the purpose of remembering traditional values in the ancient capital of Hue. Festival includes many programs such as: Nam Giao Sacrifice Ceremony, Royal Palace Night, Ao Dai Festival, Sea Festival, Kite Flying, Poetry Dropping, Poetry Performance, Truyen Lo and Vinh Quy Bai To Ceremony, Festival Countryside Market, Racing experience, Human Flag etc.

The best time to visit

The most pleasant time to visit Hue is between mid-January to April, with the temperature around 22°C to 25°C. It is dry and less humid from February that makes this period a more ideal time of the year to enjoy outdoor activities.
